American chef, restaurateur, television personality, and author Thomas "Tom" Colicchio. When Top Chef debuted in 2006, Craft Restaurant Group was founded by him and he has been a judge ever since. Many other food competition shows have included him as an occasional guest judge.

Salvatore and Dorothy (née DePasquale) Colicchio had a son, Colicchio, who was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. His father was a butcher who came to the United States from Italy as an immigrant. In fact, his mother is half-Italian. Besides Gina and Connie, he has two more sisters. While growing up, he lived in Summit.

In 1982, Colicchio worked as a chef at the now-closed Pondicherry restaurant in New York City. From 1993 to 1994, he worked as a sous chef at Gramercy Tavern. Mondrian's executive chef took over in 1995. Craft, Colicchio's first restaurant, launched in 1997. Among his other ventures are Craftbar, 'wichcraft, Colicchio & Sons, Riverpark, and Colicchio & Sons.

The Food Bank for New York City and Share Our Strength have both appointed Colicchio to their boards of directors. The Council of Chefs for Meals on Wheels includes him as a member, as does a number of other organizations.

Co-founder of Food Policy Action, a non-profit group that ranks Congressmen on their voting histories on food and agricultural concerns, Tom Colicchio joined forces with the organization in 2009.

He has been an outspoken opponent of Trump administration policies on immigration, the environment, and food aid programs. In 2018, he became a member of the Southern Poverty Law Center's board of trustees.

Both Think Like a Chef (2000) and Sandwichcraft (2006) are written by Tom Colicchio (2007). Iron Chef America, The Next Iron Chef, and Top Chef have all included him as a guest on their menus.

Director and producer Lori Silverbush, Colicchio's wife, is also a director and producer in the film industry. In addition to their three children, Dante, Luka, and Mateo, they now have a daughter.
